Tank Searches

Using a M2-Scope  metal detector, West Coast Tank Recovery will search your property to determine if an underground oil tank is present.  The fee for this service is $ 75.  If no tank is found on your property, the cost to provide the compliance letter required by municipal authorities is $25. This $100.00 fee will be waived if an oil tank is discovered and West Coast Tank Recovery is awarded the removal contract.

Oil Tank Removal

If an oil tank is found, we will supply you with a quote on tank removal as well as the costs to remove all hazardous wastes associated with the tank.

Soil Testing

Soil testing is highly recommended to ensure an oil tank has not contaminated your property or leaked into other neighbouring properties

Property owners wanting to insure or sell their home are required to conduct environmental soil testing by most mortgage lenders and Insurance companies.  If soil tests are not conduted, many mortgage lenders and insurance companies may not approve your request,

THE PROCESS:

 West Coast Tank Recovery will:

-Arrange all necessary permits.

-Properly dispose of any hazardous liquid waste or sand inside the tank, as well as the removal of the tank and disposal to a authorized local recycling facility.

-After the removal of the old tank, we will perform testing and backfill the excavation site.

-Provide a certificate of compliance, copies of permits and photos of the removal on a  disk.

REMEDIATION PROCESS (If required) :

If the test results show extracted petroleum hydrocarbons exceeding 1000 parts per million, the soil must be removed until exceptable levels have been reached, as outlined by the  Ministry of Environment.

- We will refer you to Entech Environmental Consultants Ltd. to perform the testing and work with you thoughout the remediation process.
